On January 1, 2012, the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act will go into effect, requiring retailers and manufacturers of a certain size doing business in California to disclose their policies directed to these matters. Funai supports efforts to eliminate slavery and human trafficking in its supply chain and is dedicated to the eradication of these unacceptable practices. - Verification of product supply chains to evaluate and address risks of human trafficking and slavery. At present, Funai relies on independent third party verification procedures.
- Audits of suppliers to evaluate supplier compliance with company standards for trafficking and slavery in supply chains. At present, Funai relies on independent, unannounced audit procedures.
- Supplier certification that labor and materials incorporated into the product are performed or supplied in compliance with laws regarding slavery and human trafficking of the country or countries in which each supplier is doing business.
- Maintenance of internal accountability standards and procedures for employees or contractors failing to meet company standards regarding slavery and trafficking.
- Training of company employees and management who have direct responsibility for supply chain management, particularly with respect to mitigating risks within the supply chain.
